@Ken, that seems to be the general synopsis for many CC's and universities right now, can't do class work cause you cant get there you take a hit. just inform the instructor you'll be heading to the dean and they'll back down.

by Ken Wilson1/20/2012 4:35:10 AM
Are they expecting 34 to flood again by the golf course, closing the road?
by mg1/20/2012 4:35:11 AM
I've tried to reach our reporter at the OSU basketball game to see if he can get someone to make an announcement about the Highway 99 closure. We'll see.

I don't know if this has already been said, but I just came from work in downtown Corvallis and you can't get on to the 34 from 4th right now. It looks like 4th over the Willamette in to southtown is completely blocked off.

my husband is at work at the glass fiber plant on Crystal Lake Dr. They have heard updates that it is now closed. I have been scrolling through trying to figure out the current state of Crystal Lake and southtown. He is supposed to get off at midnight, but is hearing he might be stranded there. Anyone have an idea of whats going on in that location?
by laura zee1/20/2012 4:36:38 AM
I am wondering what is going on up around conifer atm. Last I heard from My gf she was saying she was still up there but was coming back via conser from glacial way. Any updates as her phone died?
by Midtown guys1/20/2012 4:36:55 AM
Anyone traveled from S Town to Monroe? Is 99 clear?
by AH1/20/2012 4:37:06 AM
Thank you Mike!
by m1/20/2012 4:37:08 AM
I was in the flood of '96, and from what I saw then, and how things are now, I think it's very likely to expect that both the 34 bypass and the golf course area on 34 will be closed.
by periwinklealbany1/20/2012 4:37:54 AM
Also wondering about getting to far south town via Junction City and Monroe (from downtown)
by stown1/20/2012 4:37:56 AM
just heard confier is open
by kf1/20/2012 4:37:58 AM
Crystal Lake Dr is clear until you get to the intersection, at which point it is completed flooded.
by South town resident1/20/2012 4:38:28 AM
Thanks KF! I will expect her soon then!
by Midtown guys1/20/2012 4:38:34 AM
@laura zee, he can only go all the way around down alexander or park to hwy99w and go through monroe/junction city to i-5 to get from south town to north town
by Deanna1/20/2012 4:38:39 AM
According to the scanner it sounds like south town is cut off totally. They are trying to find someplace to let people park and walk. It is cut off at western.
by Resilient011/20/2012 4:39:07 AM
my understanding is that you can't drive from crystal lake drive to downtown corvallis.
by mere1/20/2012 4:39:16 AM
I though I read that Airport Road was out earlier
by Ash Edmiston1/20/2012 4:39:18 AM
can you walk from downtown to Southtown?
by chris1/20/2012 4:39:19 AM
high 99w was closed at smithloop I think
by kf1/20/2012 4:39:32 AM
I just found my pomeranian. He weighs 3 pounds. He was floating by some branches. He is alive. Thank God.
by Victoria1/20/2012 4:39:38 AM
Crystal Lake Drive is closed at 3rd street. You can go down Alexander to Hwy99 and then south - cannot get in to town from Crystal lake
by joencyndi1/20/2012 4:39:52 AM
airport rd is out
by dexter1/20/2012 4:39:54 AM
Just called Benton County Sheriff's Dept. Corvallis: If you are heading south on 4th street trying to get to South Corvallis, 99W is open to Crystal Lake Drive. 99W is closed after Crystal Lake Drive to SE Alexandar Ave.
by Chris H.1/20/2012 4:40:07 AM
if you think you'd want to hit Harrisburg and get to I-5, Diamond Hill is badly flooded.
by Ash Edmiston1/20/2012 4:40:12 AM
No, you can't walk it, water's too deep, and where it's deep it's moving in several places too, strong chance of getting swept away in the flow, do NOT chance it.
by J.G.1/20/2012 4:40:44 AM
SOUNDS LIKE 34 OVER THE BRIDGE IS CLOSED HOPEFULLY TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER
by JIM HILL20121/20/2012 4:40:49 AM
I agree dont walk, the paths are well into the Mary's by now!
by kf1/20/2012 4:41:51 AM
Is 34 to I-5 closed?
by Jason1/20/2012 4:41:56 AM
Victoria, so glad your dog is ok!
by cj1/20/2012 4:42:07 AM
Sure, you can walk from downtown to southtown. If you manage to not be carried away by the current. And don't worry about the nasty chronic hepatitis infection that you'll get from the sewage infested flood waters. That's not lethal for at least 20 years after extensive liver damage. So yeah, feel free to walk through that stuff.
by periwinklealbany1/20/2012 4:42:17 AM
looking for an update is it clear to eugene from Goodnight?
by TJ1/20/2012 4:42:41 AM
Ditto on 34 to I5?
by Ugg1/20/2012 4:42:47 AM
Think there is a chance of being able to get into north corvallis from Crystal Lake by 730am tomorrow?
by D1/20/2012 4:43:52 AM
Please use some common sense, people. Do not get yourself killed or wind up with a chronic bacterial infection just because you're in such a rush to get home. It's not worth it! Find a motel. I saw this same idiocy of people trying to walk through flood waters in '96. It was stupid then and it's stupid now
by periwinklealbany1/20/2012 4:44:30 AM
TJ, yes you can go that way, goodnight is south
by E1/20/2012 4:44:32 AM
@D from what I am reading I doubt it...sit tight...keep warm.
by TJ1/20/2012 4:44:43 AM
if 34 is not open tomorrow I am in major trouble. My boss at the ARCO on 34/I5 expects all of us to swim to work if it gets flooded.
by Jason1/20/2012 4:45:16 AM
Police cannot go into Avery park, they can only see it, stay away from that area as they are moving dispatchers away so you will not have help through Avery park
by E1/20/2012 4:45:31 AM
Thanks E I am trying to keep a line of evac open I think that we all need to keep that in mind since we have more weather coming our way.
by TJ1/20/2012 4:45:33 AM
See, I(we) are stuck at home in south town Corvallis. I doubt any one of us can get to work tomorrow.
